...and you don't have to.
With statistics of divorce at 42-50% of all marriages, why not invest in your relationship in an intentional way NOW, before your wedding, to help keep your marriage out of that list of statistics?
Some couples never talk about the real things. Some talk about them too late.
MarriageWorks is an online communication and marriage preparation workshop designed to give you as a couple some guided quality time together to talk about some big questions …questions you might not have had time or the chance to address yet in your relationship...and to do this from the comfort of your own space.
The course focuses on
topics such as communication skills, conflict styles, expectations (yours and those of others), and
how to live
into the “we”
you become once you formalize and legalize your
relationship. We talk about how and whether faith plays a role in your life, we have guest expert interviews in the areas of
finance and parenting, and we explore ideas about marriage and relationship and what it means to you. We offer lots of opportunity for you to "dive deep" through individual exercises and couple activities. You are encouraged to leave questions and comments for me - your instructor - as you go along, and the more you engage in the material provided, the more rich an experience it will be.
My aim is to provide a safe container in which to hold these conversations…to offer challenging questions for you as a couple to consider, and to look at ways in which you can invest in and look after your relationship as it grows and deepens with time.Any couple is welcome to register.
“I would definitely recommend this course, to any couples that are planning to be married. It allowed us to discuss values, what was important to us, and our current and future goals. Some of the topics that were covered are areas that we didn’t think about yet. The one topic that we both appreciated was the importance of self-care. We both have such busy lives that this tends to be forgotten. We are now planning to make time for this throughout our lives.” ~ Justin and Carol
"I wanted to say that we really enjoyed your workshop, it was fun. Jeff and I found the time together during your workshop, very relaxing, and a great opportunity to connect and re-connect on different topics of discussion. I think you have a wonderful program and will refer people to you when I get the chance. Thank you.”~ Emily & Jeffrey
"Several of the couples I have married have attended Jennifer's live course and really appreciated it. She's created on online version and it sounds like it has even more great stuff!" ~ Rev. Kimiko Karpoff, UCC Minister (seen here with Karin and Marco who completed one of the live workshops.)
"The course has a range of questions designed to promote communication
and conversation between partners. It has been great to reflect with my
partner and reaffirm what we already knew about one another.
" ~Karin & Marco
“The Marriageworks course was a great experience for both of us. Jenn isa great facilitator and we appreciated the diversity of topics discussed and that we could delve as deeply as needed into certain issues that were relevant to us. The topics discussed gave us a lot to talk and think about as we begin our life together and some neat key points and ideas that will stick with us. The course would be relevant for couples from all backgrounds and stages of life, we highly recommend it!”
~ Leslie & Josh
"I'm enjoying this so much I'm getting lost in the videos! I'm thinking so far that this would be great for married people too. I'm constantly being asked what resources are available for couples to use or do. I would so recommend this to them." ~ Rev. Sue Rodgers, UCC Minister
"A lot of self-exploration followed by partner discussion. We learned a lot. It was a great workshop".
~ Joanne & Kevin
“Jenn’s marriage workshop was great at helping us to identify the important components of marriage. We were able to learn how to effectively communicate through topics such as finance, families, etc. while understanding where our partner stands on each topic. This was a great workshop. I highly recommend this workshop to couples!” ~ Cindi & Christoph
